Originally founded over 40 years ago, we have continue to provide a vital service to the community, who remain at the centre of our business.
Our Story
Our journey began in the early 1980s under the name Chauffeur Cars — a small but dedicated private‑hire service built on professionalism, reliability, and personal service. As demand grew across Margate, Broadstairs, and Ramsgate, the business expanded its fleet and operations, evolving into what the community now knows as Thanet Cars.
The name may have changed, but the values have not. From our earliest days as Chauffeur Cars to our position today as one of Thanet’s most established transport providers, we’ve remained committed to delivering safe, dependable, and friendly travel for every passenger.
COMMUNITY
We’re proud to be a local business that genuinely invests in the community we serve. Our support goes beyond words — over the years we’ve sponsored local sports teams, partnered with nearby colleges, provided cigarette bins to help keep shared spaces clean, and taken part in the Rise Up Residency, where we proudly showcase a mural by Jordan T Gray on the rear of our building.
